I will be completely honest. I had no idea what was happening this lesson. Everything was completely new but whatever we did, it was extremely interesting and fun!

Today, we learnt about four different kinds of music technology

1. Digital Audio Workstation, DAW: softwares that enable you to notate, record and write your own music, and depending on the what the software offers, you can choose from a wide variety of sounds

2. Sequencers: softwares that allow you to listen to and edit audio recordings.

3. Loop: when a piece of music (rather it be a short melody, rhythm, it can be anything) is repeated again and again

4. Midi: a file that is used to transfer notation from software to software. This is very helpful because you do not have to rewrite everything again but import a midi file of your work – it is very easy to do too

In class, we used Garage Band to create music using loops. This was very fun as I have never done anything like it before.

Very excited to see what we will learn in the future!
