I am Louise :)

I love dogs. The dog you see in the picture is Miki. She is a Shiba Inu turning 7 this year.

I am a second year music education student at Sydney Conservatorium, majoring in classical piano performance.

I play classical piano. I started playing when I was 4 with my mum being my teacher. She always had music in her life and fortunately she recognised the benefits of sharing her piano playing abilities with me. This experience sparked the lifelong relationship that I have with music.

Entering high school, the music class was always the "bluff class." Majority of the time was spent watching musicals, YouTube videos and there was a little time focusing on actual music learning and playing. This is quite disappointing as students were not given the opportunity to appreciate music and the joys it brings to someone :( This was one of the many inspirations to pursue music education as I want to change this cycle - turn the music classroom from the bluff class to a time for endless opportunities for students to engage with music in a variety of ways.

As I have mentioned before, I am a classical pianist... I am very unfamiliar to technology. So I am a bit concerned with how I am going to survive this class lol, but regardless, I am very excited to learn about new kinds of technology and how I as a future teacher can use them to enhance my future student's learning experiences!!!!!
